When you say “partner” it brings another entity into the negotiation, which is unnecessary and, frankly, makes you look weak. I also recommend saying “at home” instead of “discuss it with my partner” Whereas “I will review this at home and get back to you by.” is ASSERTIVE and implies FORWARD momentum. It leaves the employer hanging and can make them DOUBT your interest and consider their backups. “I need time to think about this” gives the impression that, after multiple interviews, you are suddenly UNSURE and don't know what you want. Instead, say: "I will review this at home and get back to you by." Never say "I need time to think about this" when you receive a job offer.
